Paul’s note -
“The Watchfield Court Estate sits in the heart of Chiswick, that feels thought about because you are next to the Town Hall and Turnham Green & Christ Church."
Built in the 1930s, the residents and Estate Managers over the almost 100 years, have worked hard to keep the Art Deco heritage. If that architecture is one of your preferences (it is mine) - you’ll enjoy living here.
With everything built in the 30s, the apartments in Watchfield Court have been built for comfort. This has two double bedrooms, one bathroom with a separate WC, living/dining room and a kitchen that is very suitable.
The main rooms are South facing, and the big windows allow plenty of natural light in.
One of the best features is the view from the 4th (Top) Floor, and being at the end of the building, you have more privacy and much less neighbour noise - which is always nice when you are sharing a building like this.
Also having a lift in an older period building is not always a given, at Watchfield Court you have one and that makes the audience of potential buyers - much larger. That will in turn make the re-sale an easier task.
The Estate Manager has a dedicated office on-site and they work business hours - Monday-Friday, and you have emergency support at weekends. I know the Estate Managers go above the usual calls of duty for the residents and you are well looked after by their ‘concierge’ - management style.
The location is south of Turnham Green, a 6 min walk from Waitrose on Chiswick High Road and everything else you need. And just 2 more minutes to Chiswick Park Station. Both Turnham Green Terrace & Devonshire Road are a 4-minute cycle. The River Thames is reached in similar time, on your bike. Heathrow is 9 miles from your front door and access to the A4/M4 is minutes away in the car.
What’s included in the service charge? - 2 Parking Spaces, Heating & Hot Water, daily rubbish collection from your front door, building maintenance & insurance and an Estate Manager/Porter plus the other usuals.
